LifeVine
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains how LifeVine, operated by Broad River Studios LLC, collects, uses, and protects your information. We collect only what we need to run the app, we do not sell your personal information, and we are transparent about the limited data used to show optional ads and about who we share information with. It supplements the Broad River Studios Privacy Policy for the LifeVine app.
1. What we collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your email address (used to log in and contact you)
- Your username and display name
- Your profile photo, if you upload one
- Your city and state, if you choose to add them
- Content you create — the testimonies and encouragements you post
When you use the app, we may also automatically collect:
- Basic technical info (device type, app version, language)
- Crash and performance logs to help us fix bugs
- Last active timestamp
- A device advertising identifier — used only if you choose to watch a support video (see “Advertising” below)
2. What we do not collect
- Precise GPS location (only city/state if you provide it)
- Credit card or bank account information — LifeVine never sees or stores payment details
- Contacts from your phone
- Photos from your library beyond what you specifically choose to upload
- Microphone or camera access without your explicit action
3. How we use your information
- To provide and maintain the LifeVine service
- To show you stories relevant to your area (local testimonies)
- To communicate important account or service updates
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms
- To improve the app based on aggregated usage patterns
4. Advertising
LifeVine is free. We do not run banner ads, pop-ups, or forced ads. The only advertising is an optional rewarded video you can choose to watch from the Support screen to help keep LifeVine going — nothing is shown unless you tap to play it.
These videos are served by Google AdMob. To show and measure them, Google may access your device's advertising identifier and limited technical data. On Apple devices we ask your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any personalized ads are shown; if you decline, you can still use every part of the app and will simply see non-personalized ads if you choose to watch one. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings. Learn more about how Google uses data from ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. We do not sell your data
LifeVine does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to data brokers. We share only the limited data described in this policy with the service providers who help us run the app and, if you choose to watch a support video, the advertising identifier described above.
6. Service providers we share data with
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Google AdMob — serves the optional rewarded videos on the Support screen
- Expo — app updates and crash reports
- Sentry — crash and error diagnostics
- Email delivery providers — transactional emails like password resets
If you choose to support LifeVine financially, that happens on our website through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Stripe handles your payment details directly; LifeVine never receives or stores them. These providers process data under their own privacy and security commitments.
7. What other users can see
Your username, display name, profile photo, bio, and city/state (if set) are visible to other LifeVine users — unless you switch your profile to private in the Profile tab, which hides it and replaces your name with “Someone” on stories you've posted. Testimonies you publish are public once approved; you can post any testimony anonymously so it is never tied to your name. Email addresses and account creation timestamps are not shown to other users.
8. Your rights
- View and edit your profile information at any time from the Profile tab
- Request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@lifevine.app
- Delete your account at any time — this removes your profile, testimonies, and personal content from public view
- Opt out of non-essential email notifications in Settings
- Decline ad tracking (via the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS, or your device's ad settings on Android)
If you are in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with specific data protection laws, you have additional rights under those laws, including the right to portability and the right to object to processing.
9. Data retention
We keep your account data as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we remove personal content from public view immediately and delete it from our active systems within 30 days. Some information may be retained longer in backups or where required by law.
10. Children
LifeVine is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at privacy@lifevine.app and we will remove the account.
11. Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage, secure authentication, and database-level access controls. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection. If we ever experience a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required regulators promptly.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The date above reflects the most recent update. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email before they take effect.
